PREVIEW: #17 Chipola meets #4 Jones College at PSC Thanksgiving Classic
The Indians and Bobcats will tip at 1 PM on Tuesday at Hartsell Arena
PENSACOLA, Florida - After a blowout victory on day one of the Pensacola State Thanksgiving Classic, #17 Chipola (7-1) will look to keep their six-game win streak rolling when they face #4 Jones College on Tuesday at 1 PM.
The Bobcats improved to 7-0 on Monday in the first game of the Classic by defeating previously unbeaten Gulf Coast State College, 86-72. Freshman forward Avery Thomas II scored 21 points in the win to lead Jones past the Commodores.
On the season, LJ Hackman, a sophomore guard, averages 17.2 points per game to lead the Bobcats. As a team, Jones averages 93.3 points per game while allowing just 57.0.
Markel Freeman scored 19 points in Chipola's 97-65 win over Lamar State College - Port Arthur on Monday. Freeman and Antonio Baker lead the Indians in scoring on the season with 14.7 points per game.
Chipola will face another top five opponent Wednesday to round out their play in the Pensacola Thanksgiving Classic. The Indians will face #3 Trinity Valley at 3 PM on the final day of the Classic. The Cardinals are coached by former Chipola head coach, Greg Heiar.
