In tonight's opening round of the Region 8 tournament, the Indians beat #6 Eastern Florida State 77-65. 

After trailing by 10 at the half, Chipola outscored the Titans by 22 in the second half. 

Shamarkus Kennedy was one block short of a triple-double with 14 points, 16 rebounds, and nine blocks. 

Brandon Mahan led Chipola in scoring with 26 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and had six assists. Deric Patton scored 18 points off the bench. JJ Miles added in 11 points. Keishawn Brewton grabbed nine rebounds and had five assists. 

The Indians advance to the semifinals and will face St. Petersburg on Friday at 3:00 p.m. EST/2:00 p.m. CST.
