Chipola Suffers Loss to Gulf Coast State

The Indians fell to Gulf Coast State 106-87 in their Panhandle Conference opener on Saturday night in Panama City.

After taking a double-digit lead early in the first half, the Indians' defensive struggles proved to be problematic as they watched their lead slip away. Chipola never regained the momentum and allowed the most points in a game this season.

"Saturday was certainly a disappointing loss," said Coach Bret Campbell. "We let a 14 point lead slip away in the first half to 4 points at the half."

"Our problems were on the defensive end all evening where we gave up the most points in a single game this year," he said.

Jahshire Hardnett led the Indians with 20 points followed by Cedric Wright with 17 points, Jamall Gregory with 12 points, and Deyshawn Martin with 10 points.

The Indians move to 16-3 on the season.

They will host #9 Tallahassee on Saturday, January 14th at 7:30 PM.
