Indians Hit the Road to Battle East Georgia

Chipola Men's Basketball was defeated in their first game back from Christmas break in the Gulf Coast Holiday Classic.

The Indians fell to East Georgia State 96-90.  With the loss the Indians move to 7-9 on the season with one game left before opening conference play.

Chipola was led in scoring behind freshman guard Junior Saintel (24 points) and sophomore forward Dejuan Marrero (19 points).  Merrero added 10 rebounds to finish with his thirteenth double-double of the season.  Freshman point guard Floyd Preito contributed 18 points and six assists. 

As a team, Indians struggled at the free throw line, converting only 19 of 36 attempts and committing 34 turnovers.

The Indians will play Tuesday, December 30th versus USC-Salkehatchie at noon on the campus of Gulf Coast State College. 

Chipola Men's Basketball will open conference play at home January 3rd against Pensacola State College.
