Indians Stay Perfect

The Chipola men's basketball team had a perfect weekend, winning both games Friday and Saturday.

The Chipola men ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in the state, were at home and followed up a 40-point win over Snead State with another dominant victory Saturday, knocking off Darton State 107-66.

In the win over Darton, the Indians blew open a nine-point game at halftime by exploding for 65 points in the second half to reach triple digits for the first time this season.

Sam Cassell, Jr. had 19 points and five assists for Chipola while making 5-of-9 from the three-point line, with Carlos Morris adding 16 points, and Alpha Ndaw contributing 15 points off the bench.

Dont'e Reynolds went for 11 points and eight rebounds, with Cinmeon Bowers going for nine points and six boards, while Jose Jimenez scored 11 off the bench on 3-for-4 threes, and Jamaar McKay had eight points and eight rebounds.

Ty Baker also had a nice night for the Chipola reserves, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocked shots.

The Indians improved to 5-0 on the season with the victory and will next head to Waycross, Ga., this weekend for games on Friday against Cape Fear and Saturday against South Georgia State College.
