Indians Beat San Jacinto

Both teams were strong on the hill Saturday, but Chipola College Indians Varsity defeated San Jacinto 3-2. Chipola College Indians Varsity pitchers allowed just five hits to San Jacinto.

In the second inning, San Jacinto got their offense started when Robinson hit a solo homer.

Luis Guerrero earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Chipola College Indians Varsity. He allowed four hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Jaylen Nowlin and Bo Bonds entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Bonds recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Chipola College Indians Varsity.

Salgado took the loss for San Jacinto. He allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven.

Chipola College Indians Varsity launched one home run on the day. Taylor Clapp had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Clapp and Andrew Keene each collected one hit to lead Chipola College Indians Varsity.

Chipola is back in action Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. vs. Florida SouthWestern.
