Chipola Alumnus Wins World Series Title

Chipola alumnus, Patrick Corbin, completed his first year with the Washington Nationals in the best way possible on Wednesday night.

Corbin, who was drafted out of Chipola in 2009, threw three scoreless innings of relief and was named the winning pitcher to help win the Nationals franchise win their first-ever world championship. 

When Corbin entered the game in the bottom of the sixth, Houston held a 2-0 lead. He held the Astros scoreless throughout his three innings, while his offense scored three runs to take the lead in the seventh. 

Corbin allowed two singles, struck out three, and had no walks in his three innings of work.

Corbin is the first former Chipola baseball player to win a World Series ring.
