Indians Take Game 1 from NWF, 8-0

An ace performance by Brady Acker spurred the Chipola Indians (27-9, 6-1) to an 8-0 win in seven innings over Northwest Florida State on Wednesday at Northwest Florida State.

Acker (3-0) kept Northwest Florida State off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six.

Five runs in the first three innings helped the Indians over NWF. An RBI single by Jose Caballero during the first inning and an RBI single by Jacob Silverstein and a two-run single by Wood Myers in the second inning helped put some runs on the board early.

Jay Estes led the offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.

The Chipola Indians added three more runs in the top of the sixth. Myers doubled, bringing home Silverstein and Estes to kick things off. Michael Hickman brought home Estes with a sacrifice fly.

The Indians are back in action against NWF on Friday, March 25 at Chipola Field. First-pitch is scheduled for 5pm CST.
