Chipola Takes Game 1 from TCC, 13-4

The Chipola Indians (24-9, 3-1) beat Tallahassee on Friday 13-4 at Chipola College in seven innings.

The Indians responded to Tallahassee's one run in the top of the first when Maurice Cooley hit a grand slam and stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first.

The Indians scored five runs in the sixth on the Chipola Indians scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Jose Caballero, an RBI single by Jay Estes, and a three-run home run by Michael Hickman.

Myles Edwards homered in the seventh inning, bringing the run-rule into effect.

Michael Hickman racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Chipola Indians.

Bowden Francis (6-0) recorded the win for the Chipola Indians. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered five hits.

The Indians are back in action tomorrow at Tallahassee. Game time is scheduled for 2pm EST/1pm CST.
