Chipola Bats Stay Hot Against Gordon State

Chipola (11-2) continued to pile up the runs on Friday on the way to a 15-5 win over Gordon State at Chipola College.

Jay Estes lead off the bottom half of the 1st with a solo shot to right center. The Indians never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on an error and two solo blasts. Chipola scored five runs in the second on a sacrifice fly by Wood Myers, a groundout by Reynaldo Rivera, an RBI single by Tyler Osik, and a two-run home run by Michael Hickman.

Tyler Osik also homered - his first of the year. Osik racked up three RBIs on three hits and a walk for the Chipola Indians.

Landon Faulkner (3-0) got the win for the Chipola Indians. He allowed one run over six innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Austin Hendricks took the loss for Gordon State. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.

The Chipola Indians posted one run in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh. In the fifth, the Chipola Indians scored on an RBI single by Myles Edwards, plating Osik.

After a quick strike from Gordon State, the Chipola Indians responded with three runs in the eighth. The Chipola Indians scored on an RBI single by Michael Hickman, an RBI single by Michael Hickman, and a groundout by Michael Rojas.
