Chipola defeats College of Lake County after late game double, 7-6

After five lead changes in Tuesday's game at Panama City, FL, Chipola finally pulled out a 7-6 win over College of Lake County. 

Chipola pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. Chipola scored on an RBI double by Gunnar McNeill off 19, plating Isiah Gilliam

It was a good day at the plate for Chipola's Maurice Cooley. Cooley went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning. 

College of Lake County's lineup had no answer for David Wright. Wright gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out one during his five innings of work. 

Adonis Hernandez got the win in relief for Chipola. Hernandez pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed one run. 

Nineteen couldn't get it done on the hill for College of Lake County, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs. 

The top of the first saw Chipola take an early lead, 1-0. Jay Estes singled to ignite Chipola's offense, before Gilliam doubled, scoring Estes. 

Chipola tallied one run in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, Chipola scored on an RBI single by McNeill, bringing home Estes. 

College of Lake County quickly matched Chipola's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the third. College of Lake County scored on an RBI single by Villaweal. 

College of Lake County answered Chipola's top inning with four runs of its own in the sixth. College of Lake County scored on an error, a two-run single by Cuevas, and a wild pitch. 

The seventh spelled defeat for College of Lake County, as Chipola grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on two singles.
