Early lead gives Chipola victory over Grand Rapids, 12-2

Rapids and captured a 12-2 victory on Sunday at Marianna, FL. 

With six runs in the first three innings, Chipola left no doubt about the eventual outcome. 

An RBI double by Isiah Gilliam in the first inning and an RBI single by Collin Harris during the second inning supplied the early offense for Chipola. 

Harris racked up four RBIs on two hits for Chipola. 

Anthony Burke got the win for Chipola. He allowed one run over four innings. Anthony Burke struck out two, walked none and gave up four hits. 

Fadden was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two. 

Chipola got four-run rallies in the third inning and the fifth. In the third, Chipola scored on an RBI single by Andrew DiLacqua, bringing home Lazaro Rivera

Chipola scored two runs of its own in the fourth. Chipola scored on an RBI double by Jay Estes and an error. 

Chipola survived Grand Rapids' surge and put up four runs of its own in the fifth. Chipola scored on an RBI single by Jesse Strickland and a two-run error.
