Great pitching leads Chipola past Gordon 10-2

An ace performance by Culver Lamb led Chipola to a 10-2 win over Gordon on Thursday at Marianna, FL.

Lamb kept Gordon off the board during his seven innings of work. Lamb allowed two hits, two walks and struck out seven.

The biggest inning for Chipola was the eighth. In the inning Chipola scored six runs. Chipola scored in the eighth on a walk by Maurice Cooley, a sacrifice fly by Lazaro Rivera, a two-run triple by Kevin Santa, a passed ball, and a sacrifice fly by Keiner Colmenarez.

Chipola was led by Gunnar McNeill's hitting. McNeill went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Nick Martens was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none.

Chipola stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Andrew DiLacqua and an RBI single by Rivera.
