Chipola survives St. Petersburg rally, escapes with 4-2 victory

St. Petersburg wasn't able to come back from the big hole it dug itself into against Chipola, and St. Petersburg lost 4-2 to Chipola after falling behind by four runs in the third inning. 

St. Petersburg scored on in the fifth inning and a solo home run by Mike Mann in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, St. Petersburg couldn't finish the comeback. 

Lazaro Rivera racked up three RBIs on one hit for Chipola. He homered in the third inning.

Mac Marshall racked up six strikeouts in the Chipola win. Marshall allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over five innings. 

Tyler Shambora ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs. 

The lead stayed with Chipola after the second, when it scored one run on a groundout by Maurice Cooley.
