Gunnar McNeill helps Chipola down St. Petersburg 5-2

Gunnar McNeill had two extra base hits, sparking Chipola to a 5-2 victory over St. Petersburg on Friday at Marianna, FL.

He doubled in the second and fifth innings.

Culver Lamb was a workhorse on the hill while bagging the win for Chipola. Lamb pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out four.

Drake Hloska couldn't get it done on the mound for St. Petersburg, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

St. Petersburg jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. St. Petersburg got things going when Trey Amburgey singled. An error then moved Amburgey from first to second.

Chipola didn't relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the fifth inning when it scored on a two-run double by McNeill and a two-run single by Isiah Gilliam

After pushing across one run in the top of the eighth, St. Petersburg faced just a 5-2 deficit. An RBI double by Duke Stengel sparked St. Petersburg's rally. Finally, David Wright induced an inning-ending fly out from Logan Blum.
