Gordon falls 11-3 at the hands of Chipola

Chipola beat Gordon on Wednesday 11-3 at Barnesville, GA. 

Jay Estes racked up three RBIs on one hit for Chipola. He homered in the fourth inning. 

Tevelle Clark shut down Gordon while he was on the hill. Clark held Gordon hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one. 

 Ramon De La Cruz got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits. 

Chris Wilson was charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed two runs. 

Chipola stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring two runs on an RBI triple by Maurice Cooley

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, Gordon faced just a 5-3 deficit. A two-run single by Ty Hobbs set off Gordon rally. Clark ended the inning by getting Hunter Thornton to fly out. 

Chipola pushed across one run in both the sixth inning and the eighth. In the sixth, Chipola scored on a sacrifice fly by Gunnar McNeill, plating Estes. 

Chipola piled on four more runs in the top of the seventh. Isiah Gilliam's double got things going, bringing home Lazaro Rivera, Estes and Jesse Strickland. That was followed up by McNeill's triple, scoring Gilliam.
