Chipola survives Walters State rally, escapes with 3-1 victory

Walters State wasn't able to overcome the big hole it dug itself into against Chipola, and Walters State lost 3-1 to Chipola after falling behind by three runs in the third inning. 

Walters State scored one run in the fifth on an RBI single by Kyle Dailey. Still, Walters State couldn't draw even. 

Kevin Santa was hot from the plate for Chipola. Santa went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and third innings. 

Jo Jo Durden was in control on the bump. Walters State managed just two hits off of Durden, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work. 

Mac Marshall got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed one run over four innings. Marshall struck out five, walked three and gave up one hit. 

Brett Jones took the loss for Walters State. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed no runs. 

Chipola never trailed after scoring three runs in the third on a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Santa. 

Walters State's lone run of the ballgame came in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Kyle Dailey.
