Chipola tops St. John's River in back-and-forth affair, 5-3

Chipola and St. John's River traded the lead seven times on Sunday, but Chipola ended up on top with a 5-3 win in seven innings over St. John's River. 

Chipola took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Chipola went up for good on a two-run double by Isiah Gilliam off Carr, scoring Lazaro Rivera and Kevin Santa

Collin Harris reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning. 

Gunnar McNeill got the win in relief for Chipola. McNeill pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed no runs. 

Ratliff ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed three runs. 

The top of the first saw St. John's River take an early lead, 1-0. St. John's River got things going when Hann singled. 

Chipola pushed across two runs in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, Chipola scored on an RBI double by Harris, plating Maurice Cooley

Chipola scored one run of its own in the fourth. Chipola scored on a groundout by McNeill.
