After dominating in a 10-0 no-hit victory over Gordon College in the first of a three-game series Friday in Marianna, the Chipola Indians lost the final two meetings Saturday 7-2 and 6-4.

The Indians (11-4) were victimized by four errors in the first game Saturday and five in the second, with Gordon scoring seven total unearned runs in the doubleheader.

Taylor Lewis started the first game for Chipola and took the loss despite allowing just one earned run in five innings.

An RBI single by Josh Merrigan to score Cody Lanford got the Indians on the board first in the first inning, but Gordon came back with three runs in the top of the second off of a walk, an error, a squeeze bunt, and a solo home run by Dylan Dore.

Chase Johnson tacked onto the lead with a three-run home run in the seventh off of Chipola reliever Tom Watson to make it 7-1, with Kevin Santa rounding out the scoring with a solo homer in the bottom of the frame for the Indians.

The Indians took a 4-0 lead after three innings in the second game of the doubleheader, but Gordon rallied with a run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and then three in the seventh to take the win.

Hunter Thornton led Gordon by going 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while Dore was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Lanford and Danny Mars each had two hits to lead Chipola, with Santa going 1-for-3 with a double, a run, and two RBI.

Palmer Betts started on the mound and pitched four scoreless innings but did not factor into the decision, as Chris Mosley took the loss for giving up a run on a walk in the seventh inning.

Chipola will next play a Friday doubleheader against Grand Rapids at home with the first game at 11 a.m.
